Nowadays, the vineyard covers around 180 ha against the madeleine mounts, between Changy at North and Saint-Jean-Saint Maurice at South, on the left bank of the river Loire.

The Roannese coast RDO labelling in 1994 permitted the wine’s renewal.

Soils come from granites (microgranite, coarse-grained granite, Porphyroid granite), anthraciferous tufs produced by acid volcanism.

Red wines and rosés come from the Gamay grape variety, here called ‘white juice Saint Romain’.

The red wines have very fruity aromas (red fruits, cherries…)a good freeshness and great suppleness.
